Background

As part of a plan to renovate existing school campuses, Chesterfield County Public Schools required two sites to house two elementary schools for 24 months. Thanks to our readily available inventory of modular classrooms and restroom buildings, comprehensive oversight, and ability to complete the project within an aggressively tight time frame, Mobile Modular won the bid.

Meeting Customer Needs

Our inventory centers enabled us to quickly prep products and respond to customers’ needs immediately, keeping the whole project on track and running smoothly. Mobile Modular also took on general contracting as part of the project scope, which meant obtaining all necessary permits and overseeing trade-specific work for portable classrooms and other school buildings for rent, including electrical, plumbing, decks and ramps, and fire alarms.

Solutions in No Time

To streamline the project, we used our flexible ModPods and MPLEX buildings and opted to use cranes at both the sites for faster installation. At each site, we installed:

  • Six 182 x 65 12-classroom ModPods with restrooms
  • Three 154 x 65 10-classroom ModPods with restrooms
  • Two 60 x 60 MPLEX buildings to be used as cafeterias

Installation began and had to be fully ready for students with a certificate of occupancy form the County no later than Labor Day. The final outcome was $117,000 square feet of space which included 66 modular classrooms and two cafeteria spaces. Mobile Modular successfully delivered the project on time thanks to our readily available flexible ModPod fleet of classrooms that are available quickly without having to be subjected to typical factory lead times.
