Background

Culver Duck, a duck processing company, in Middlebury, Indiana has expanded their business to the point of needing a new, larger building. The goal of the new building was to provide an open workspace to improve productivity and a welcoming space for the public to enjoy learning techniques to cook duck properly. The needs of Culver Duck would lead Mobile Modular to a two-story modular building design. The choice of modular cut construction duration by an entire year. The proximity of the manufacturer also helped to reduce costs in the process.

The Process

Mobile Modular designed a two-story modular building featuring a state-of-the-art full-functioning kitchen on the first floor. The kitchen is open for classes and demonstrations on how to cook duck properly. The interior was designed to be a facility with upgraded finishes to hold public presentations and a functional, friendly office environment. The second floor provides an administrative space for the Culver Duck team containing 9 offices and a copy room. The exterior finishes were selected to complement existing buildings and display a permanent site-built office feel. A steel standing seam metal roof and entrance canopy were also included in the installation.
