Background

Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church embarked on an ambitious mission to construct a multi-building church campus, encompassing a total of 12,000 square feet across five distinct facilities. After a rigorous selection process, the church entrusted the turnkey solution to Mobile Modular, a company recognized for its comprehensive project management and manufacturing capabilities.

The Plan

The blueprint for the campus featured a diverse range of structures, each designed to fulfill specific community needs. The central hub, a spacious 108’ x 60’ community center, was complemented by a 24’ x 60’ facility housing community bathrooms and a kitchen. Additional structures included a 24’ x 60’ building for church offices and a library, and a pair of 24’ x 40’ buildings designed for classrooms. Mobile Modular was tasked to bring this ambitious vision to life within a tight six-month timeframe, a challenge they successfully met, demonstrating a commendable level of efficiency and time management.

The Process

The initial designs and elevations for each building were provided to Mobile Modular by the church’s architect during the bidding phase. Armed with this information, we meticulously followed the architect’s vision during the manufacturing process, ensuring the completed buildings aligned with the intended aesthetic and functional specifications.

A significant milestone in the construction process was the foundation installation and crane setting of the buildings, a task executed seamlessly within a single week. In line with their comprehensive service commitment, Mobile Modular undertook additional aspects of the project infrastructure. This included the installation of sewer and water lines, fire sprinkler systems, walkways, as well as concrete groundwork. Canopies were also erected, ensuring the campus was accessible and comfortable for its members regardless of the weather conditions.

Refined Touches for Lasting Beauty

In the final stage aimed at enhancing the aesthetics of the campus, we paid particular attention to the exterior finishing of the modular buildings. A three-coat stucco treatment was applied, bringing a refined, polished look to the structures. Roof trusses were further adorned with Spanish tiles onsite, a nod to the rich architectural traditions of the region. The project’s successful completion demonstrated Mobile Modular’s ability to transform architectural blueprints into a fully realized, functional, and visually pleasing church campus, within the agreed time constraints.
